sugar free Orange cookies

When I posted the above picture of a homemade sugar free orange cookie on Instagram yesterday, Anne, Nanette and Cindy asked for the recipe. So ladies: you are served 😉

My recipe for any kind of cookies is simple: taste the dough and adjust. If it tastes good the cookies will be delicious. Sugar free cookies are different: not as chewy because sugar changes the structure of a cookie. But the orange zests and sucralose make them edible and a nice sweet treat for a monday afternoon.

200gr flour
100gr butter
2 small oranges
1 egg
pinch of salt
20gr sucralose (or any other sugar substitute like stevia, you can also use guave sirop)

Grate the oranges and add to the mixture of flour, butter, egg and salt. Squeeze 1 orange directly over the dough. Don't pour in too much orange juice, because it makes the dough liquid and sticky. Add as much sucralose as you think tastes good. Make small balls of the dough, press them on a baking tray and bake the cookies in the oven at 175°C for 20 minutes. I checked, but they needed 10 more minutes. Bon appétit ladies!

  1. Wow this is so super easy! I might substitute oranges for lemon as my husband loves everything with lemon. And why, just why is sugar sooooo bad! And tastes soooo good!

    1. Hahaha but as soon as you cut sugar out, you won't really miss it (well after a few weeks that is ;) )… And everything is fine until you eat something sugary again and you're addicted all over :D
