Urban Jungle Bloggers #30

JOELIX.com | Urban Jungle Bloggers - 1 Plant 3 Stylings

One plant and three stylings. This month's Urban Jungle Bloggers edition sounds pretty easy. For the styling part at least. But picking ONE plant was my challenge. I have many favorites: I love all my different cacti that come from all over Southern Europe, the new Oxalis plants, my thriftshop plant, some little cuttings… Enfin I picked this succulent, with its "flowery" Graptoveria succulent. It comes from the beach near Valencia.

The first styling includes some of my current favorites: the pelican thrifted jug, a Depeapa tray and the Graptoveria in a beautiful Voltasol mini plant pot. It's so fun to spin it around on its semi-conical base!

My second styling was an easy one! These past few months, Robert and I have spent quite a few Sundays junkhunting in our area in France. I love how it's always a surprise what you'll find and chatting with the locals about their stuff/the weather/anything really. For instance I found this macramé monster for only 1€ at a vide grenier in the neighborhood. I couldn't not buy it and when I was paying the old lady next to me said she had the same one at home. I asked her what kind of plant she used it for and she said she kind of forgot that she had it. She promised me that she would use it again 😉
And of course at all the brocantes and vide greniers, my eyes were peeled for nice ceramics for my plants. I found quite a few, which I gathered here:

For little styling corners like this, I like to create some extra height by piling up different pots and bowls:

I particularly like the shape and glazing of this vase:

For styling number three I took out some glassware from my props collection. It's basically stuff I cannot throw away, like these blue bottles that I used to have in my room when I was a teenager, the blue pharmacie glasses in this incredible deep blue that I used to play with as a kid and the Amarene Fabbri (yummmm but soooo sweet!) pot that I brought home from Italy.

So what do you think? Do you have a favorite styling? And if you feel like it, play around with some of your plants too! It's fun 🙂 This month it's extra fun, because we and at{mine} are giving away a nice SONY compact camera with wifi to the person with the nicest styling. All you have to do is upload your styling in the Urban Jungle category on at{mine} before the end of June! No strings attached and maybe you'll win a camera that you can use to take more UJB pictures, or some nice holiday shots! Fingers crossed!

  1. Good morning!

Oh, I love your little plants and these gorgeous vases & pots, your pictures are so 'airy' , love the greens, the blues, yellows.

I haven’t had a chance to take my pictures yet :( but hopefully soon I’ll be able to join the fun :)

  2. Hi Judith! It's nice to see so much Catalan and Spanish design in your first styling! (of course, it's my favorite!) :D Are the ceramic pots from matagalan? Your pictures are lovely, as usual, great job!
    Have a wonderful summer!

  3. Your photos are so beautiful! I love all the plant stylings! I just got an oxalis myself (love it so far ) – and was gonna use it for this post. I just couldn't get to it yet.
The spinning pot is so cute! I always notice it in your's and Igor's pictures. Thanks for the link! :)

  4. You can imagine where my head is today! It's been a nervous 24 hours and unfortunately the result is not the one I had hoped for.
But, on a happier note, us European bloggers will always be united, right?

    Hope you are well xx
