We’ve made so much progress in Petite Maison Triangles these past months that I hardly know what to show you first. So maybe let’s start with the flooring?! Because OMG this made a huge change and gave an instant feeling of “a real home”. As you know, we opted for a beautiful terrazzo inspired floor from Forbo Flooring, called Forbo Modul’Up Venezia sépia 104.
We waited a long time for our workmen to finally finalize the new screed to make the floor level, so when everything was finally (finally!) dry I decided to lay the floor myself. And truly: if I can do it, you can! Forbo Modul’Up is a loose laying floor without glue or adhesives, but you use a Modul’Up single side tape below all joints, which is so cool. You tear off the protective foil from in between the sheets and over the next 24hrs it becomes super strong.
And the final result of the Forbo floor: we love it! The quality looks and feels excellent. Not unlike some terrazzo PVC floors I’ve seen around: it’s thicker and sturdier and the pattern is detailed with colors that match the color palette of the entire house extremely well.
To see some more images of the floor laying process, I made a reels on Instagram with a little peek. You can watch it HERE.
It’s amazing to see a plan coming together. After the design process, the moodboard, a crazy year 2024 with an accident and surprise pregnancy and our little Ollie being born, it feels amazing to see that what we had in mind looks and feels so good! It’s still a work in progress, but a very impactful part of the renovation is finished: our beautiful Forbo floor! What do you think?
