It’s finally time to share the heart of Petite Maison Triangles: the brand new kitchen. This space has been such a labor of love — imagined, reimagined, and slowly brought to life over the past months. And just like with all good things, it took a little patience… but oh, how worth the wait it was.
From the very beginning, we knew this kitchen had to be more than just a functional corner. It would be the center of the home, open to the dining area and living room, and even visible from outside. Every detail mattered: proportions, light, and of course, the colors that would anchor the space.
We went with an Ikea Metod kitchen, because its modular flexibility fits perfectly under our quirky low diagonal ceiling. But when it came to finding the right doors, nothing clicked. We wanted something that would feel warm and sun-kissed, a palette that could bring the Mediterranean indoors.
That’s when we stumbled upon RYK Relook Your Kitchen who create custom panels for Ikea and Leroy Merlin kitchens. Their brand new shade, Ochre du Luberon, inspired by Provençal clay hills, instantly spoke to us. It feels rooted in the landscape yet playful with the light — shifting from earthy to golden depending on the time of day. Honestly, it feels like it was made for this room. The smooth surface of the RYK Ange panels feels so good. Look how good it looks with its’ silky mat finish:
The entire process was seamless: ordering at RYK was straightforward, delivery was faster than expected, and the craftsmanship of the panels, doors, plinths, and handles exceeded every expectation. The ochre surfaces radiate warmth and tie everything together, especially with the soft French Riviera hue (from Blime) on the walls and ceiling.
The kitchen isn’t just about cooking: it’s about atmosphere. The tactile floor from Forbo Flooring, the poetic Verna 50 pendant light from Pilke Lights via Björka Design, the wool flowers and soft seat cushions by Aveva Design… every detail brings a sense of joy and togetherness.

It’s such a joy when every panel and handle just fits perfectly. The oven + microwave combination from Electrolux fits so nice and snug:
But the real magic? When you turn around and see the view. You’ll see a little peek in some of the pictures here, but in real life it’s simply breathtaking. Imagine stirring a pot of soup or brewing your morning coffee with those hills and the Dent de Rez mountain greeting you. It makes every little moment here feel special.
We couldn’t be happier with the result of our long awaited kitchen: the space feels both grounded and inspiring, practical yet poetic. Cooking here is going to be joyful — and hopefully delicious too!

We couldn’t be happier with how it all came together. It’s been 2 years in the making, a pregnancy + baby and some renovation challenges came into the mix, but it’s looking even better than we ever imagined. A space that’s warm and grounded, yet fresh and light-filled: ready for countless meals, conversations, and warm cups of tea.
