Some of my favorite places in Copenhagen:
► Cinnober /// Landemærket 9 /// mon-fr 11-17:30 sat 11-15 /// Independent bookshop with a lovely selection of books (graphic design, illustration, architecture, street art, fashion, industrial design), paper products and prints.
► Another Nué /// Krystalgade 3 /// mon-thu 11-18 fri 11-18:30 sat 11-16 /// Nice selection of women's fashion (V Ave Shoe Repair, Camilla Skovgaard, Vibe Johansson, …), jewelry, shoes and handbags. Just across the street is Henrik Vibskov, also worth checking out.
► Kompa'9 /// Kompagnistræde 9 /// mon-fri 8-18 sat 10-17 /// Good (eco) coffee, a nice spot for breakfast with croissants and yogurt with granola. They also serve delicious sandwiches for lunch.
► Lego store /// Vimmelskaftet 37 /// mon-thu+sat 10-18 fri 10-19 sun 11-17 /// I love Lego, and second best after the Lego theme park in Billund is the Copenhagen store. Build your own minifig, buy a limited edition set or play with some bricks ;)[[more]]
► Trianon bakery /// Hyskenstræde 8 /// mon-fri 7:30-17:30 sat 8:30-17 /// They bake delicious Danish bread and pastries for the Royal Danish Court and for everyone else. Just around the corner of the Lego store. Try their Tebirkes (marzipan puff pastry sprinkled with poppy seeds)… so good!
► Stilleben /// Niels Hemmingsens Gade 3 /// mon-fri 10-18 sat 10-16 /// Beautiful handmade ceramics, graphic art for your walls, home accessories and more. I blogged about it here.
► HAY HOUSE /// Østergade 61 /// mon-fri 10-18 sat 10-17 /// Hay heaven! I blogged about it here.
► Wood Wood Museum /// Frediksborggade 54 /// mon-fri 12-18 sat 10-15 /// Relics, rarities and other artifacts from the Wood Wood archives at "favourable" prices.
► Paradis ice cream /// Eleven shops all over the city, check website for locations /// Not the best ice cream I've ever had, but still pretty tasty. I tried the liquorice ice cream and loved it.
► &pagne /// Hyskenstræde 7 /// mon-fri 11-18 sat 11-16 /// Beautiful selection of women's fashion (Ellen Truijen, Wackerhaus, Æstetik, Yvonne Koné).
► Nutid café /// Sankt Peders Stræde 1 /// wed 9-22 thu 9-24 fr 9-1 sat 13-1 /// "Profit for the poor café". Student and wallet friendly café, they also organize concerts and garage sales.
► Torvehallerne /// Frederiksborggade 21 /// mon-thu 10- 19 fri 10-20 sat 10-18 sun 11-17 /// Copenhagen has no farmer's markets, but it has the Torvehallerne: Denmark's biggest food market where you'll find fresh fruit, vegetables, fish, meat, cheese, bread and specialties from the Danish regions. There's also a Coffee Collective 🙂
► Granola café /// Værnedamsvej 5 /// mon-fri 7-24 sat 9-24 sun 9-16 /// Freshly-brewed coffee, delicious breakfast and a great hangout for people watching.
► Liebe /// Kompagnistræde 23 /// mon-fri 10-18 sat 10-16 /// Super cute handmade tableware, vases, door knobs, stationary and more… Giova wrote about it here.
► 42Raw /// Pilestræde 32 /// mon-fri 10-20 sat 10-18 sun 11-17 /// This place made we want to try raw food, it's healthy but without fuss: it looks good and and tastes even better. Neighbor Paleo serves delicious food too.
► Danish Film Institute /// Gothersgade 55 /// mon-fri 9:30-22 sat 12-22 sun 12-19 /// The perfect spot to watch a Danish movie or just have a coffee or delicious dinner at SYLT. Also love their identity. The neighborhood is GREAT for shopping too!
► Neighborhoods to check out as well: Nørrebro (Jægersborggade), Vesterbro (Værnedamsvej), Kodbyen (eat at Fiskebaren) and the Botanisk Have (botanical gardens). Ohhh… I want to go back!
